Meet the Team

  • Dean Lontos

    FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER

    Dean Lontos is a Founder and Managing Partner of Altivar Capital, where he leads the firm’s mission to build and scale private lending platforms nationwide. With over 20 years of experience in private credit, Dean has originated, managed, and serviced more than 3,000 loans through Altivar and its affiliates, providing capital solutions across residential and commercial real estate markets.

    Dean is also a co-founder of Kalterra, a Texas-based real estate investment and development firm focused on Class A multifamily and mixed-use projects. Prior to these ventures, he co-founded a multifamily investment platform that acquired and repositioned more than 5,000 units during the early 2000s.

    With more than $2 billion in real estate transactions completed throughout his career, Dean brings deep expertise in capital formation, structured finance, and strategic growth. He holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, where he also fulfilled the requirements for a second degree in Real Estate.

  • Loy Shaw

    FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER

    Loy Shaw brings over 25 years of expertise in real estate underwriting, loan origination, acquisition, and asset management. Since 2020, as a Principal at Altivar Capital, he has specialized in hard money lending, leveraging his extensive experience to drive success. During his tenure at Altivar Capital, Loy has also trained and mentored emerging hard money lending startups in Kentucky and South Carolina, fostering growth and innovation in the industry.

  • Austin Meadows

    Managing Director

    Austin Meadows is Managing Director at Altivar Capital. Since 2018, he has facilitated over $900 million in lending, acquisition, and development deals, focusing on Sunbelt multifamily markets. Previously, he held key roles at a leading Texas-based developer and a Sunbelt multifamily owner, specializing in acquisitions, capital markets, and asset management, contributing to the development of over 1,500 multifamily units and the acquisition of more than 3,000 units.

    Austin has also held significant positions at Culver Investment Partners, Kalterra Capital Partners, and Bay Mountain Capital. He earned a BS in Finance with a Real Estate emphasis from Texas Christian University and is based in Dallas, Texas.
